Alright people, let’s talk vampires. The legend of what would today be considered the modern day vampires started in eastern Europe in the mid 1600s. Back then it was just hearsay, rumors, and peasant talk about walking dead creatures coming back to life. It really wasn’t until 1897 and Bram Stoker’s classic Gothic novel “Dracula” that the vampire myth really took hold in popular culture. Since that novel the vampire has really had a world wind career. Starting off as a reclusive nobleman wanting to rejoin society, to suave lovers just looking to seduce, to downright blood sucking parasitic leech like creature hellbent on blood, to whiny outcasts just looking for meaning in the afterlife, to half-breeds looking to hunt their kin, to the less than popular latest incarnation……….the sparkley whiny vampire. *shudders* The allure of the vampire has always held a special place in our hearts. No matter which vampire we think of we still kind of want to be one. Wether it’s the idea of living forever, always being young, being sexy, being powerful, or just being able to wear capes, it’s all an attractive notion to us. Movies have helped us see how the vampire gets to live….. or at least die…. or whatever. But what about the day to day life of these creatures? It can’t be all blood fueled raves and supernatural orgies. What about the practical side of their lives. And that’s what I asked in this week’s “Hashtag, You’re It” with the hashtag #EverydayVampireProblems. What trials and tribulations do the undead have to go thru? How do they get their widows peak so perfectly straight if they can’t use a mirror? Well, I got almost 14000 responses so I’m not the only one thinking about this kind of stuff. So sharpen those stakes and for a bloody good read check out the top list below and don’t forget to join me every Tuesday 11 am EDT for the next “Hashtag, You’re It”
