#MyParentsThinkThatIm via Hashtag, You’re It!: @McMannofthePeop The Top Picks

Parents are great. From day one they are your biggest supporters. They have such high hopes for us too. They want us to be happy, healthy, and living up to our greatest potential. They see us being doctors, politicians, lawyers, or leaders of industry. In their minds there isn’t anything that we can’t accomplish. And even if we never reach those lofty heights they still see us better than we really are. That’s why we love them. They are a great PR Team that you don’t even have to pay for. To a parent their child is perfect. The world would be a better place if we all tried to live up to the expectations that our parents have put on each of us. They only want the best for us and we try to live our lives hoping to never disappoint them. Because we truly DO want to be how our parents see us. So parents, thank you for loving us and thank you for making us better people. Now the rest of this introduction is going to be boring technical stuff about how to program a DVR and how to do snapchat and Instagram and things like that. So parents, you don’t have to read any more. If you want to just leave the room that’d be great. Ok, bye bye. Love you!

*waits for door to close*

Are they gone? Good!

*lights up cigarette and takes a shot of bourbon*

FINALLY! Ok, there is NO ONE that we lie to more in our lives than our parents! It starts when we are young. No, we didn’t break that vase. All the while we’re holding the bat that broke it. Then we grow up a little and we want to start doing stuff that they don’t want so we lie and say were going out with some friends when in reality we’re taking road trips to Tijuana. Then we grow older and it’s lying to get out of talking about conversations we don’t want to have. So are you seeing anyone? *shudders* Oh, it’s not like we don’t love our parents. It’s just that sometimes we don’t want to see that disappointment in their eyes. We try to keep them unaware of some of the real stuff that we do. For years my parents never knew I even smoked. Yes, they used to smoke as well. So it’s not like I was doing anything illegal or wrong, I was just doing something that they didn’t want me to do. So I kept it from them. We lie to our parents to keep them happy. So really we are doing them a favor if you think about it. At least that’s what I’m going to tell them. But seriously we love our parents and only want to show them our best sides. So sometimes we might stretch the truth a little or just flat out LIE as to what’s going on in or lives. So for this week’s “Hashtag, You’re It” the tag was #MyParentsThinkThatIm and that’s why the two part introduction for this game really. Because you can do this game from both sides of the story. You could either answer what your parents really think of you OR the lies that you told them that they believe. So check out the top list below and don’t forget to join me every Tuesday at 11 am EDT for the next exciting episode of “Hashtag, You’re It”. Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go hire someone to pretend to be my date for my next family gathering.
