#WhatMyTeachersNeverTaughtMe via Hashtag, You’re It!: @McMannofthePeop The Top Picks

Being a teacher is a damn hard and mostly underappreciated job. Funding for classrooms is being slashed more often than a promiscuous teenager in a “Friday The 13th” movie. Class sizes are growing larger than that weird, irregular shaped mole on my back. And let’s not even get into the whole debate of arming teachers! They are proficient enough with the yard stick upside your head. Or was that just MY daily life at a Catholic school? But any way you slice it, being a teacher is a tough job. Trying to impart not just knowledge but also how to behave in society is a tricky tightrope act that they have to deal with on a day to day basis. It’s no just teaching the periodic table, it’s also teaching why you need to share with friends. It’s not just teaching that George Washington was the first president, but also why lying is wrong. It’s not just about teaching the Dewey decimal system, but also why do we even need to know that kind of stuff now a days in a society that has all the world’s information at out finger tips. Stupid google. Trying to teach every kind of life lesson mixed with facts while at the same time trying to be entertaining all in just a 45 minute class is a extremely daunting task. So you’ll have to forgive your teachers if one or two things might have been over looked in your over 12 years of schooling. But what were those nuggets of wisdom that you missed? What slipped by the American schooling system that you had to learn later in life? That’s why this week’s “Hashtag, You’re It” was #WhatMyTeachersNeverTaughtMe. So check out the top list below and don’t forget to join me every tuesday at 11 am EDT for the next exciting episode of “Hashtag, You’re It”
