In 1992 Superman died. Having fought for truth, justice, and the American way for over 54 years he was finally brought down by the genetically constructed Doomsday. Characters all over the DC universe mourned the passing of the original archetype of what a superhero should be. Herculean strength, impervious skin, the ability to fly, laser eye vision, a tragic back story, and co-workers who can’t even tell it’s you with a pair of glasses on, he had it all. His death was headline news in Metropolis AND in real life. His funeral was attended by ever super hero in the DC Universe and even then president Bill Clinton. But don’t worry your pretty little head, he wasn’t really dead. I tried looking up how he was brought back, and in true comic book form, it was soooooo convoluted that even I can’t sum up HOW he did it, but sufficite to say he came back from the “other side”. But Jesus like resurrection can’t be the only downside to being “The Man Of Steel”. So for this week’s “Hashtag, You’re It” I asked twitter for other examples of what could be the #DownsideOfBeingSuperman. So check out the top list below and don’t forget to join me every Tuesday at 11 am EDT for the next exciting episode of “Hashtag, You’re It”
