I originally got into hashtag games after watching Comedy Central’s panel game show @Midnight hosted by Chris Hardwick. One of the games that they had the comedian’s competing that night play was called Hashtag Wars. In it they were given a hashtag and they had to come up with as many funny answers to that hashtag. After that round was over they opened up the competition to everyone at home. They would take the ten best responses and post them to tumbler. The next episode that would announce which at home player had won and feature that tweet on the show. I……. uh….won 5 times (he said smugly). Hashtag Wars really jump started people love of playing hashtag games. More and more independent hashtag games started popping up. One day I woke up and the regular game that started at 11 am EDT said that they were done. So I jumped at the opportunity and decided to start my own hashtag game. So “Hashtag, You’re It” was born! That was January 12th 2014. I’ve been doing this game now for 6 years. That’s over 300 hashtag days to date. So every Tuesday morning I post my hashtag game and try to bring a little humor to the Twitterverse. I would like to thank EVERYONE that has played my hashtag game since the beginning. That’s why for this week’s 6th Anniversary game I wanted to make it a little special. What better way to make something special than by giving people money! 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places this week will receive some cold hard cash. And now a days who couldn’t use some extra money. For this anniversary game the hashtag is #NowThatsComedyGold. So check out the top list below and don’t forget to join me every Tuesday at 11 am EDT for the next exciting episode of “Hashtag, You’re It”. And once again thank you to everyone that has helped make these a great 6 years. Here’s looking forward to many, many more years!
